Santaverde

A new brand is available in Switzerland: Santaverde, it comes from the fabulous Andalucía region. Its products’ main ingredient is Aloe Vera well known for its natural moisturizing benefits. I tried the rich cream, just Amazing! I applied it one night and the following morning my skin looked rested and healthier, the redness disappeared. Now that the weather is a bit warmer, I use the medium cream at night and the light in the morning. Love it!

Danica Mikolon, Marketing & Product Manager, is answering my questions to learn more about those magical products…

AB:  When, Where, by whom and Why was created the brand Santaverde?

DM: We have been growing aloe vera at our finca in Andalusia for over 20 years, producing the purest natural cosmetics from plants grown under strictly organic conditions. It was here that we placed our first baby aloe vera plants in the sandy soil back in 1986. With a lot of work and love for nature, we have been able to acquire a great deal of knowledge about cultivating and processing aloe vera and exceptional competence for the plants. From her personal experience our CEO, Sabine Beer, discovered the extraordinary effect on her skin and entire body, the unique Santaverde recipe principle resulted as the quintessence.

1985:

Sabine Beer and her husband bought the Finca Verde in Estepona, Andalusia (Spain) as a private holiday home on the Costa del Sol.

A Texan neighbour gave Sabine Beer a fresh aloe vera leaf as a tip to use on her inflamed, dried skin. The effect of the fresh aloe vera convinced Sabine Beer  that she will, from now on, only use aloe vera cosmetics back home in Germany. However, she was very disappointed about the products available in the local markets and the highly diluted aloe vera powder contained in them.

The idea of producing cosmetics from the fresh, pure gel of the aloe vera, was born.

1986:

Start of our own, controlled biological cultivation of aloe vera plants. To start with, 4,000 aloe babies planted on the two hectares of fields at the Finca Verde – the predecessors of the roughly 20,000 plants there now.

AB: What is the particularity of the Brand?

DM: Our principle formulation and the own organic cultivation of the main ingredients aloe vera and cashew. Conventional formulations for cosmetic products comprise 60-80% pure water (Aqua). The main component of each Santaverde product is pure plant juice from aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis Miller) and cashew rich in active substances from our own, controlled organic cultivation in Andalusia/Spain and Brazil.

Unlike water, the pure plant juice contains a great plethora of vital substances from fresh plants that are particularly valuable and effective for skin care.

AB: If you would recommend 3 products, to a 30 years-old woman, with a normal to oily skin, what would they be?

DM: It would be 3 of our classic products: Aloe vera facial toner classic, Aloe vera hydrating gel and Light or medium aloe vera cream.

Care tip:

Apply hydrating gel as additional moisture serum under day care, facial toner classic as moisture provider for in between or as preparation of the skin for the following care cream.

AB: Do your products contain any preservative? If yes: which? If no, what else?

DM: All our formulations comprise pure plant juices and oils, tender herbal distillates and valuable plant extracts – and not a single drop of water.

Most of the raw materials used come from certified organic cultivation and certified wild harvesting. There is no use of chemical-synthetic fragrances, colourings and preservatives, mineral oils, parabens, silicones, PEG, genetically modified plants or other synthetic additives in our products.

AB: Would Sabine Beer have any Beauty/Healthy Tips to share with our readers?

DM: Beauty is an expression of holistic good health. Santaverde offers you highly capable products for skin care from the inside (Beauty Food) and the outside (Organic Skin Care). Our skin makes our life visible, it protects us and allows us to feel. Outer and inner influences can weaken the skin and lead to moisture deficiencies, dryness, and premature skin ageing or excess production of fat. We regard these changing skin conditions as temporary skin patterns. The care objective of the Santaverde natural cosmetics is to put the skin back into its natural equilibrium and to encourage it to regenerate itself.

Care tip:

In our foundational care range we offer three care products with different lipid levels – light, medium, rich. You can choose the level of richness that you are most comfortable with. Each product can be used as day and night care and is available with or without fragrance for especially sensitive skin. For dry skin, I would recommend spraying facial toner sensitive as extra portion of moisture many times a day onto the skin. Furthermore, you can add our extra rich beauty elixir to your daily care if necessary.
