Winter tips – Lips

Oh god, my lips suffer so much from cold weather

Women, men, babies, whatever your age, cold is the worst enemy for our lips.

You can use any type of lip stick during day time. But, for people, like me, who suffer allergies, I would recommend:

Weleda lip stick:

Weleda is well known for its implication in fair trade: it has established over a 100 global fair trade partnerships. All products are composed of natural ingredients using biodynamic methods to cultivate plants avoiding all pesticides & fertilizers. Most of their packagings are recyclable too. Distribution: Pharmacies & drugstores.

Kiehl’s baby lip balm:

Very gentle lip balm for babies but I also use it & it is great, mainly composed of avocado oil. Distribution: own stores + corners, check: http://www.kiehls.com/_us/_en/stores/index.aspx.

Nuxe, Honey balm:

Composed of 3 main ingredients, acacia honey, shea butter (Karite) & grapefruit essence, this balm is a miracle, it nourishes & repairs your lips intensely. Recommendation: apply, with clean hands, at night, on your lips & around them. Indeed, during the day, you should preferably use a stick to avoid using your hands. Distribution: drugstores & department stores.

A tip: if you really suffer of “cracking” lips! … At night, apply massive quantity of Biafine (French product you will easily find in any drugstore), or, just apply any cream that you would use for a skin burn.

  1. Tina says:

For the “older” women, did you know that the product Tri-Aktiline an instant deep wrinkle filler which is fanastic when used around the mouth, it fills in the wrinkles and fixes lipstick so it doesn’t bleed into the fine lines for quite a while; it can be used morning & evening but also whenever applying lipstick. After 4 weeks of use 83% of subjects demonstrated an improvement in the appearance of lines around the mouth.
However,I wish that someone had advised me in my twenties to regularly use a lipbalm on my lips, as this is the only way to avoid cracks & lines as you get older!!
