Entre nous… avec Paola

I met Paola when I arrived in Zurich; a dynamic, very enthusiastic and loyal person and friend. Paola just gave birth, 2 weeks ago, to a little Emil-Fermando; and guess what… this interview was finalized when Paola was waiting for her baby … at the hospital !!! Aren’t we totally passionate at A Healthy Beauty ?!

Paola has an organic life style; very cautious about what she eats and what products she uses in order to maintain a healthy balanced life and respect her environment.

AB: What kind of beauty products do you use daily?

PV: I use organic and bio products as an extension of the nutrition and life choices I try to follow; which means, being more respectful to the environment, and respecting my body by selecting more natural products, in food and clothing; as, unfortunately we are exposed, against our will, to an immense variety of toxic particles and substances. In this way, I try to give a “break” to my body, it would be a bit like… a regular “detox” .

AB: What are your 3 favourite organic brands/products and why?

PV: I like the following brands because they are based on natural ingredients and avoid many chemicals.

The Brand Lavera

This brand has a very large portfolio of products, which fulfill my needs, eg. from toothpaste, creams, to UV filters and hair products.

Some examples of particular products I use:
- the toothpaste without Fluor (Fluor is a good element but we can actually get too much of it, as a lot of food products are Fluor-enriched).
- during my holidays, I used UV filter creams, free of nanoparticles; I was even more cautious this year because/thanks  :-) to my pregnancy!
- hair products, I’ve always had issues with my scalp as it is extremely sensitive. In the past, no matter how much I spent on great/expensive products, my scalp always reacted badly .  Finally, I found this Lavera shampoo which nicely cleans my hair, I don’t need to use a conditioner; However, I found a great fixing foam which does not end in white flakes all over my scalp! The best is that I don’t seem to loose quite as much hair as before.

The brand Weleda

This brand is amazing and it has a big portfolio as well, a long family story supporting Quality. I use their products for more specific needs like enrichment creams, bath solutions…

The brand Dr. Hauschka

The best oils for the skin! I used one of these oils for almost 7 months in order to prevent stretch marks due to my pregnancy and today I can only say that it’s absolutely fabulous. Of course, I always massaged my growing belly in the morning and before sleeping. Super results.

AB: What is the ideal product for you?

PV: A product, which is based on more natural ingredients, or at least, neutral substances. Even if I love perfumes and essences, I’d rather go with products without them.

AB: Is there any product, not yet available on the market, that you would dream of?

PV: An all-in one facial cream, which cleans and feeds the skin and… definitely, little cream pots that would help on saving cabinet space! or, that would be very useful when travelling.

AB. Would you have Health and Beauty tips to share with us?

PV: Beauty starts by feeling good in our body, understanding our needs and listening to them, and making healthy life choices. No excesses… only of happiness!
