Again a great girls’ afternoon spent together: 2 speakers & 2 artists in a sunny, fun & cosy atmosphere.

Several points were highlighted… before even thinking of creams & plastic surgery, both experts reminded us how important it is to clean our face properly. Each evening, the last thing you must imperatively do is : 1. Remove the make-up, 2. Clean your face with or without water, up to you, 3. Apply a lotion, like a micelle water, to remove the last particles of dirt, pollution & make up! Regarding water on your face, from my own experience, between 20 & 30 yrs-old, I avoided using water as I found it dried out my skin. Now that I’m 31, I use water, don’t ask me why, I can’t live without it & I remove the foam with a sponge… great sensation, makes my skin feel 100% clean. I think my skin is less dry & more of a mix to oily type now: this could explain…

Anyways, Alexandra Doleac, International Training Manager at la Prairie, explained to us what is a good cosmetic cream? How should we choose our day & night creams? Why apply a serum? We also had the great chance to try La Prairie products & have some background on the brand & explanation of Why the prices of a La Prairie cream are soooooo expensive?!

Indeed, the qualities of a good product should be:

- The level of research & development that a brand is willing to invest in => new technology to improve the benefits of the cream… La Prairie created “Cellular technology” that is powerful because it contains nutrients similar to those we have in our SKIN CELLS. This is called Biotechnology; Our cells are blind, they only recognize molecular structures for a better transformation & stimulating effect. Also, the brand was the 1^st to use marine extracts for the elasticity of the skin etc.

- The ingredients should be the finest, in regards to the A.B.C classification… La Prairie uses A ingredients => You can probably find a couple of brands that use Caviar, the difference will rest in its ut-most quality.

- Last, but not least, the concentration of the assets in a cream is fundamental. The more concentrated the ingredients are, the more efficient the cream is.

What held my attention was the amazing Platinum cream that La Prairie launched. What? “Platinum”!!?! Indeed, under stress, our skin looses its electrical balance necessary for the water to circulate. Platinum has electrical properties so it re-balances, moisturizes & protects the skin better. An exquisite and timeless ingredient for a younger looking skin.

But in any case, we cannot escape the aging process. We will grow old this is a fact! but… we can do something to maintain a natural beauty! When you have tried all the best products on earth but your fine lines are becoming wrinkles! When your beautiful young lines of expressions give you anything but a young & fresh look! Or when you still have acne scars … another alternative: Botox? Hyaluronic Acid?

Konstantina Belouli-Jobin, Plastic Surgeon at Praxis Binzallee (Zurich), explained the natural aging process & what we can do to maintain a fresh & elegant look. Alternatives: Botox & Hyaluronic Acid. Botox is used to limit the movement of a muscle, to slow down the shaping of fine lines of expressions. Generally, Botox is used on the top part of your face. The results are visible after 4 days & last up to 6 months. Price varies vs. quantity used. Hyaluronic acid is different; it can be used as a rejuvenator or as a filler to fill in fine lines & wrinkles, it depends of the density of H.A you use. Indeed, there are several type of Hyaluronic Acid, several densities. With a very light texture of H.A you can rejuvenate your face & give it a more homogeneous look . It can be used on your chest, or on the whole face as a soft lifting also. H.A has a moisturizing effect, so it helps regain elasticity. If the H.A is very dense you can use it to fill in very deep wrinkles. H.A is commonly used on the bottom part of your face. Important to know, H.A can be used for the body! With a certain quantity & thickness you can fill in your boobs & your bum! … The H.A results last up to 1 year.
